The rooms are very spacious. The beach front rooms have beautiful views right out to the Caribbean. We tried to sleep with the slider open, but noisy bars are nearby (they go until at least 3:00am). Closing the door and turning on the air conditioner took care of the noise. All the staff were great, especially Luis. He always smiling and helpful.

Pelicano is located about 1/2 blocks from "FUSION" hotel, the music played from 6:30 to
1AM! quite noisy , ecen with the A/C going

This was maybe my 10th time to stay at the Pelicano, but it has been 8 years since I have stayed. I love this resort because of the location and new beaches at Playa del carmen, if you are looking for first class you wont find it here but we love it.

It was perfect! just what we were looking for, not large and crowded but comfortble and quiet and beautiful. Right on beach, personal were so frindly and helpful. Definitely be back!

Luis was fabulous. Our room was steps from the great beach! Water was awesome. So many good restaurants close to the hotel. If you love shell fish you must have the seafood soup at La Parilla on the corner of 8th & 5th.

Early morning coffee (6:30 am) would have been nice.

The man behind the desk, Luis, was a fantastic host. We received a very warm welcome.
One suggestion is that directions are given to the hotel, as we found it hard to find, and the locals did not know where it was, and so could not help.

Restaurant service was excellent

The air conditioning in our first room did not work. The staff switched us to room 105, with working air conditioning. The bathroom is the weak point in this class of property. The shower head is caked with lime and the shower tile/grout is dirty and could use replacing. We knew going in that it's a "cheap & cheerful" type of property. The Pelicano Inn's proximity to beach and the amenities of the region were our main draw.

the hotel did not have a restaurant that was operating, we had to go next door, but it was fine.
