The Lodge can be reached by land/boat or by air. By land is a 3-hours drive from San Jose towards the Port of Matina followed by a 2 to 2 1/2 riverboat trip along the Canals of Tortuguero to Mawamba Lodge. By air, it is a 30-minute flight from San Jose to Tortuguero Airstrip. This airstrip is just a 5 minutes boat-ride to the Lodge.
