Day 1 - Depart from USA
    Arrive Cancun.
    Day 2,3 - Chichén Itzá/Mérida

We begin by exploring the ruins of Chichén Itzá with a local guide. Huge stepped pyramids, many of which have been beautifully restored, characterize these ruins. Early evening we arrive at the colonial city of Mérida, where we will spend two nights.
The city of Chichén Itzá houses some of the finest examples of Mayan architecture ever excavated, including El Castillo with a balustrade of 91steps.
Mérida is the capital of Yucatán State. It’s centre, the Plaza Mayor, or zocalo, is green and shady and is surrounded by the twin-towered 16th Century Cathedral, the City Hall, the State Government Palace, and the Casa Montejo.

    Day 4,5 - Palenque

A short flight takes us directly to the town of Palenque, in the lowlands of Chiapas State. The site delights visitors with its natural beauty and fabulous ruins.
The ruins of Palenque are impressive indeed, particularly the Pyramid of the Inscriptions, where a large sarcophagus was found, containing the mummified remains of the Lord Pakal. The surrounding jungle growth and it s bird life are sure to be as fascinating as the ruins, with toucans , macaws and the chattery Howler Monkeys making the park their home.

Day 6,7 - San Crístobal de las Casas, The Highlands

A stunning drive across the jungle and wooded highland pine forests takes us to the mountains of Chiapas and its former capital, San Crístobal de Las Casas. Enjoy a guided tour of the nearby villages. A visit to Sumidero Canyon, horseback riding, biking and shopping in the local markets are some optional activities that are available.
The Highlands are a more traditional part of Mexico. The Isthmus of Tehuantepec and the mountains of Chiapas beyond, are inhabited by Indigenous people.

    Day 8,9 - Guatemalan Highlands - Panajachel

We cross the Mexican/Guatemalan border today and spend a quiet, relaxing evening on the shores of Guatemala's most beautiful lake, Lake Atitlán, which is surrounded by volcanoes and colourful villages. We spend two nights in Panajachel, an excellent base to explore this fascinating region.
Panajachel is a relatively modern town with paved streets in its centre, with a great deal of old world flavour and charm. Visit the old churches, and explore the back streets to see the more traditional side of Panajachel.

    Day 10-12 Antigua

We take a day trip to visit the Sunday market of Chichicastenango. The bustling market and parade make this an event not to be missed! Our final stop in the Guatemalan highlands is the colonial town of Antigua, where optional activities include volcano climbing, mountain biking through the countryside strewn with coffee plantations, or simply relaxing at one of the many cafés.
Antigua is a peaceful, partially-restored colonial city that is a pleasure to explore.

    Day 13 ,14 - Flores/Tikal Guatemala

It is a quick half-hour drive to the capital’s airport for our 45-minute flight to the vibrant town of Flores, also capital of the Petén region .There will be time to explore, shop or swim in Lake Petén.Itzá. We will have a full day to visit the renowned ruins of Tikal and view the abundant wildlife of this National Park.
Flores is a small island town, with narrow, cobble-stone streets, small, brightly painted houses and friendly people.

Day 15 - Flores/ Playa del Carmen, Mexico

A private van takes us back to Mexico to end our adventure with a final night in Playa del Carmen, on the Caribbean
Playa del Carmen is located on the beach just 45-minutes drive south of Cancún. The town is your last chance to enjoy some night life, buy last minute souvenirs and to relax and swim in the Caribbean Sea. There is also snorkelling and diving available, and long stretches of sandy beaches which are perfect for walking and relaxing after a hectic day.

    Day 16 - Depart Playa del Carmen/Cancún

    Services end.
No planned activities, so you may leave at any time.
Note: Playa del Carmen is located a 45-minute drive from Cancún, therefore it is easy to arrange a direct transfer to the Cancún International Airport without returning to the city.
