The building in which the Hotel Fiorita is located was built at the beginning of the century, around 1920, at the same time when the main railway station (Santa Maria Novella) was built. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor of the building and in its origin it was the private flat of one of the richest family's of Florence, the Conti family. Conti Lando became mayor of the city in 1983.
The building reflects the idea of 'grandeur' and richness of the people that were fortunate enough to have lived here. The hotel has large and spralwing hallways with beautiful glass windows and doors, decorated with designs. Nowadays, the living and sleeping rooms, are large with high, decorated ceilings, and in some rooms, decorated windows.
Although things have changed since those days, you still may feel the atmosphere of living in an old, charming florentine apartment. Despite the age of the building, the hotel is in excellent shape; and all the rooms have been recently renovated to provide ours guests with with most of the modern amenities desired today. Each room has a bathroom and is well equipped with sat/tv, minibar, safe, telephone, hair dryer in the bathroom, and air conditioning in the summer time. We want our guests to be as comfortable as possible, so if there is anything that you need, please let us know.
